  • Paul Andersen, ARIN, Board of Trustees
  • Paul Andersen has been with egateNETWORKS Inc., a managed network service provider based in Toronto, since he founded the company in 1996. He is responsible for the design and implementation of the organization's IP network. He has served as Board Chairman for both the Canadian Internet Registration Authority (the dot-ca registry) and the Toronto Internet Exchange. Paul is a licensed member of Professional Engineers Ontario, and holds a B.A. Sc. in Computer Engineering from the University of Toronto. Paul joined the ARIN Advisory Council (AC) on 1 January 2004 to fill a one-year term, and he was re-elected in 2004 and 2007. He vacated his position on the AC when he was elected to the Board of Trustees in 2009, and he was re-elected in 2012 and 2015. His current term expires 31 December 2018.

  • Ciprian Popoviciu, NANOG Community Member & Nephos6
  • Dr. Ciprian Popoviciu is the president and CEO of Nephos6, a company developing the tools to monitor on prem or SaaS based services over IPv4 and IPv6. Ciprian has over 19 years of experience working in various technical and leadership roles. Prior to starting Nephos6 he managed the architecture team of Cisco’s Engineering Infrastructure Services organization where he defined the strategy and led the execution of the internal DC consolidation and transition to cloud. He is an industry recognized domain expert in IPv6 who, over the past 12 years worked on the strategy, architecture, implementation and validation of IPv6 adoption by large service providers and enterprises Worldwide. Ciprian worked with various governments on defining national level and agency level IPv6 strategies and standards. He also worked with product and test teams on specific IPv6 features and roadmaps towards IPv6 readiness. Ciprian authored two IPv6 books: “Deploying IPv6 Networks” and “Global IPv6 Strategies”. He co-authored 5 IPv6 related IETF RFCs and multiple IPv6 related patents. Ciprian is an IPv6 Forum Fellow and a Cisco Champion. He is a frequent speaker to industry events and conferences and he is an active contributor to various technology and scientific publications.

  • Mark Kosters is the CTO of the American Registry for Internet Numbers (ARIN), responsible for all engineering initiatives within the organization, leading both development and operations. Mark has over 25 years of experience as an applications developer, networking engineer, technical manager and executive. Over the last eighteen years, he has been a senior engineer at Data Defense Network (DDN) NIC, Chief Engineer and Principal Investigator under the NSF-sponsored Internet NIC (InterNIC), and Vice President of Research at VeriSign. Over his career, Mark has been involved in application design and implementation of core Internet client/server tools, router administration, UNIX system administration, database administration, and network security. He has represented both network information centers in various technical forums such as IETF, RIPE, APNIC, CaribNOG, and NANOG.

  • Christian S. Tacit, ARIN Advisory Council
  • Chris Tacit draws on over 34 years of experience in the communications, information technology and not-for-profit sectors, Chris is the founder of the firm Tacit Law, which provides legal and business advice to domestic and international clients who wish to obtain high-quality, personalized and cost-effective services. He provides legal, regulatory, and advocacy services related to all aspects of communication, Internet, technology and not-for-profit law and policy, and he assists clients with strategic planning, governance, risk management, business reviews, commercial transactions, as well as corporate and regulatory compliance. Chris is a: (1) member of the Bars of Ontario, Alberta, Northwest Territories and Nunavut; (2) registered Trade-mark agent in Canada; and (3) licensed professional engineer in Ontario. He has an Electrical Engineering degree from the University of Waterloo, as well as Bachelor of Laws and Master in Business Administration degrees from the University of Ottawa. Chris serves on the boards of a number of not-for-profit corporations, including two Internet-related multi-stakeholder organizations, in which he also holds senior officer roles. He has published a number of articles and has taught at the post-secondary level. He was elected to the AC in October of 2014. His current term expires 31 December 2017.

  • Richard Steenbergen is co-founder and Chief Technology Officer of PacketFabric, a next-generation Network-as-a-Service interconnection and transport solutions provider. Prior to starting PacketFabric, Richard served as CTO of GTT Communications, a leading global IP/MPLS backbone and Tier 1 network operator in over 80 countries. Richard was also the founder and CTO of nLayer Communications for 11 years, served as a Sr Network Architect for various large NSPs, and served as a Sr Software Engineer helping developed advanced optimized routing techniques. Richard has been attending NANOG since 1999, and is a frequent speaker and contributor.

  • Jon Worley is the Technical Services Manager with ARIN and has been a member of the Registration Services team since 2004. He has experience with all ARIN policies and procedures for requesting, managing, and transferring IP addresses and AS numbers, including technical services such as ARIN’s RESTful API. Jon has spoken about these topics as well as IPv4 depletion and IPv6 adoption at events such as the Department of Veteran’s Affairs Spring 2012 IPv6 Inter Agency Meeting, and ARIN on the Road meetings across the US and Canada.

  • Dani Roisman, SoftLayer Technologies & NANOG Program Committee Vice Chair
  • Dani Roisman is currently the VP of Network Operations at SoftLayer Technologies (merged with The Planet Internet Services in Nov 2010), where he oversees the teams that run the network supporting over 80,000 managed servers across 11 datacenters. Prior to SoftLayer/The Planet, he was the Senior Network Architect and Network Engineering Team Lead at Peak Web Consulting, and prior to that Director of Network Engineering and Facilities Architecture at Sony Online Entertainment. Dani has specialized in large content datacenters and networks, with a focus on peering and multi-homing to reduce costs, improve customer negotiating stance, as well as increased network capacity, performance, and fault-tolerance. His network design and implementation accomplishments include massively-multiplayer games (EverQuest, Star Wars Galaxies, and PlanetSide) and social networking deployments hosting over 5,000 servers across 9 datacenters with Internet bandwidth capacities reaching 250Gbps.
