Abstract: As with any new technology, IPv6 requires a learning curve for network managers and IT administration and operations personnel. Therefore, obtaining IPv6 training staff is a critical first step. Many organizations seem to experience the same pitfalls in their IPv6 planning. This presentation covers many of the current best practices for approaching and progressing with an IPv6 deployment. IPv6 address planning and the routing design to hand-in-hand and should complement each other. For end users, the protocol should be transparent, unless there are problems. This presentation also covers troubleshooting in a dual-protocol environment.
