Gaya Nagarajan, Facebook

Gaya Nagarajan manages the core engineering team at Facebook. The team is responsible for engineering piece of IP/MPLS backbone as well as the optical network. Prior to joining Facebook, he managed solutions and system test teams at Brocade focussing mainly on service provider architectures. Gaya has more than 10 years of experience in networking after completing his masters at University of Kansas. Outside of network world, he has a passion for sports and enjoys playing cricket, golf and racquetball.
Abstract: At Facebook, we are faced with many scale related challenges, such as traffic growth leading to a traffic-engineered backbone spanning the globe. In this session, we'll explore our backbone network designs of the past, today, and what we're working on. We'll also look at how we developed a network global view and the various platforms built to manage our backbone.
