David Swafford, FacebookDavid Swafford is a Network Engineer at Facebook, who focuses on software tooling for the datacenter and works alongside a great team of engineers responsible for FB's production network. Previously, his background was in network engineering in the enterprise and academic space. He entered the world of networking early on after being inspired by his first use of dial-up Internet in '96. Outside of the computer / network world, he loves to cook and stay active with his always-hyper Australian Shepard, Cocoa.
Abstract: | At Facebook, we are faced with many scale related challenges, such as traffic growth and configuration management. In this session, we'll explore our datacenter network designs of the past, today, and what we're working on. We'll also look at how we manage these devices at scale -- in terms of monitoring, fault remediation, and keeping the environment's configuration consistent all the way down to our top-of-rack switches.
