I had just reset the MTR counters, sorry.  I have been getting bounced
out of apps all day.  Here is an MTR running for the last 30 minutes.
Smokeping is also showing 4.37 avg loss, 44.41 max loss and 9.53 current

Did you notice that the received packets and %loss at hop 12 drops back down to that at hop 10 and doesn't significantly change after that? The problem is probably between hops 1 and 2.
