Being that Miami is my home town. I found it interesting
today that in areas affected by the black out services like verizon EVDO lost
their backbone connections. The towers were up with signal but no one could get
to the IP gateway. Driving a few miles to a lit area provided
connectivity.
This is a concern for those of us with hurricane experience
in the area.
