Yes, IMHO - too many things to fail, including potentially your own DCN, the SMTP gateway service from the mobile operator, et. al.


I'd strongly recommend a direct NMS-to-SMS gateway, etc., OOB. And of course, multiple methods in event of failure of one of them.
