It's like paying for a telephone that could only call a subset of the world's telephone users. And the solution (assuming you wanted global reachability) was to buy multiple telephone services from different providers, but even then the reachability that those providers offered would change over time. Would you be happy to rely on telephone for critical business (or other) functions?
