AFAIAA, Magrathea don't offer access to 112/999, but this is no great
loss given that mobile phones are cheap, ubiqitous, and work pretty
much everywhere in the UK. Even hermits have them :)

Given the recent London experience should mobiles be used as a backup to proper land lines..??????
