Clearly it's possible to do this:

4500_3#conf t      
Enter configuration commands, one per line.  End with
CNTL/Z.
4500_3(config)#int lo1                        
4500_3(config-if)#no ip addr
4500_3(config-if)#ip addr 10.1.1.0 255.255.255.255
4500_3(config-if)#int lo2
4500_3(config-if)#ip addr 10.1.1.255 255.255.255.255
4500_3(config-if)#^Z

Given that this is the group for network operators,
why didn't you just try it?

Can any one tell me if the last byte of a point to
point or loopback ipaddress with 32 bit mask can be 0
or 255?

For e.g.:

Is 10.1.1.0/32 a valid interace address?
