Commercial broadcast radio is, in olde-worlde communications parlance, *narrowband* modulation of a carrier. Wideband - *not* broadband - modulation refers to signals with transmitted bandwidth that is a significant fraction of the carrier frequency. The baseband signal is essentially the information-bearing signal, sans any modulation of a carrier.
