Multicast storm

Has anyone ever seen that only one bogus packet caused multicast storm in a vlan environment?

In the following example, the first packet with src/dest MAC addresses 72:3a:20:63:6f:9/41:2d:63:6f:6c:6f caused other machines in
the network generated nearly 10Mbps traffic towards some multicast MAC addresses for few minutes in a 10/100 switched vlan.

Is there any way to prevent it or let those "amplify" devices not to re-send them?
