Are you sure you're acting in the best interest of your customer base?
Such a change will have a noticible impact on the number of packets
moving through their networks.   

For those doing mostly WEB apps, the larger packet size is desirable.

Have you considered that just because there are "several people" who
want it changed that there may still be several million that don't?
