actually it would be _smtp._tcp.$DOMAIN but it's not in use for e-mail.
or web, even though that's the example that appears in the rfc.  the only
users i'm aware of are Microsoft and Apple for their respective service
discovery systems, and MIT Kerberos iff your domain name and your realm name
are the same.
